A GIRL IS A GIRL

A girl is a girl so frilly and sweet

You'd just like to hug her the moment you meet.

She's little pin ruffles and nylon and lace;

She's an innocent look on a pink little face;

She's dozens of dollies of ev'ry known size

This cute little angel with stars in her eyes;

She's little toy dishes and parties and teas

A princess a heart, you can say what you please;

She;s all kinds of ribbons and buttons and bows;

A pleasure to have as anyone knows.

She's little play houses and red rocking chairs,

Soft pinked eye bunnies and broke teddy bear;

She's the picture she coloured and wants you to see,

This wee little pixie who climbs on your knee;

She's perfume and powder and all pretty things

Like bracelets and beads and play diamond rings.

She's ice-cream and candy and pink birthday cake

She's also the cookies she helped Mother bake

She's the perfect nuisance to each little boy

But she's Daddy's own sweethert, his pride and his joy;

She can pout, she can stop, she can tease, she can cry

But still she's his pet, the very apple of his eye.

She's kitten and everything, cuddly and nice

Ah, sure 'n' and she's a bit of God's paradise.
